The Japanese Film Festival 2016 is coming
It’s the time of year when the Japanese Film Festival in Australia rolls around again, this year for the twentieth time!
The hardworking JFF crew have released their festival dates for all six cities, plus their initial slate of films, with more info to come as we get closer to the dates. The schedule looks like this:
- Canberra: 14-23 Oct
- Adelaide: 21-30 Oct
- Brisbane: 26-30 Oct
- Perth: 2-6 Nov
- Sydney: 17-27 Nov
- Melbourne: 24 Nov-4 Dec

Japanese Film Fest: Full Syd/Mel program
Just a quick update: as noted on their Facebook page, the Japanese Film Festival has now released their full extended program for Sydney and Melbourne — that’s twenty extra films from all sorts of genres.
And they’ve programmed some free screenings of five black-and-white classics in all cities, from Misumi’s original Zatoichi film (full English title The Life and Times of Ichi the Masseur to Kawashima’s Elegant Beast (which has a wonderful still on the JFF website).

JFF dates announced
Via Twitchfilm (man, those guys are on the ball) the Japan Foundation has announced dates for the annual awesome Japanese Film Festival here in Aus. And the big news this year is that the JFF is coming to Adelaide!
So, start blocking out time in early September people; there’s a great range of films on offer! More details at the festival website (as if you didn’t already know).
